Kirstenbosch Bonsai Show 2010

Every year the Cape Bonsai Kai has exhibited member's bonsai trees at the beautiful and internationally reknown Kirstenbosch Gardens. The exhibition is just before Christmas and is exceptionally well attended. You will find many trees from top bonsai artists on display as well as a collection of Suiseki, natural stone appreciation. Beginners in the club are encouraged to display their trees also so you can see how trees start off and can be developed over years of love and care. A large sales area will provide you with all you need to get started should you wish to take up the rewarding art of bonsai. Experienced growers are on hand should you wish to ask questions and there are regular talks and workshops which run during the 3 days which the exhibition is open to the public. Hope to see you there in 2011.

Random Bonsai Tip

Wick watering - Support your tree or pot over a container of water. Place one end of a piece of rope (approx 20 cm long and one centimeter diameter) in the container and bury the other end in the pot of soil - you can now go away on holiday.
