Workshops

Members of the Cape Bonsai Kai gather on a monthly basis for workshops. The main goal of these workshops are for club members to bring trees to work on. During the workshop you will gain input from senior members and be able to share ideas, learn techniques or as Tony Bent loves to say "do boring chores like wiring!"

Workshops are held by the club, hosted at member's houses for club members only. The workshops usually begin at 13h30 and carry on till around 16h00.  If applicable see the map to the next workshop below or contact us for more details should you wish to attend the next workshop.

Random Bonsai Tip

Using deadwood can improve and enhance a number of problematic aspects in the design of a tree. If the tree doesn't have a satisfactory apex, create one with a jin. A shari can be used as a focal point or it can give movement to an uninteresting trunkline.
