Waterstone Village Exhibition

In June, Francois Voges a long standing member of Cape Bonsai Kai, was able to stage a small bonsai exhibition at the upmarket shopping center of Waterstone Village in Somerset West.

There was very little space so only around 12 trees were on display, contributed by members of the club, but they were of a high standard and Cape Bonsai Kai can be proud.

Many members of the public stopped to admire the trees and to ask questions. The center management were delighted with the response and have asked that the event be repeated during Arbor Week towards the end of the year.

Random Bonsai Tip

Salvaging wire - Off-cuts of heavy electric cable (three centimeters diameter) as used by the Electricity department will keep you in copper and galvanized wire for a few years. Galvanized wire can be used for stay wiring and also tying down trees and pots against the wind.
